California Public Employees Retirement System Fellowship

The UC Davis Graduate School of Management and California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) Research Fellowship provides an opportunity for students in the financial services industry to gain valuable experience including opportunities in shareholder activism and corporate governance while completing their MBA at UC Davis. CalPERS is the nation's largest public pension fund and the third largest in the world. With assets totaling $189.8 billion at June 30, 2005, CalPERS investments span domestic and international markets. CalPERS provides retirement and health benefits to more than 1.4 million public employees, retirees and their families and more than 2,500 employers.

The fellowship is a competitive award available to students enrolled in the UC Davis MBA program. Students selected for the fellowship receive a cash scholarship funded by UC Davis and an internship position at CalPERS. The fellowship is administered through the UC Davis, Graduate School of Management, and the Center for Investor Welfare and Corporate Responsibility.
