The 2008 Net Impact Election Extravaganza

Now is your chance to get involved with Net Impact.  The class of 2009 is ready to give you the torch and here is how it is going to happen:

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO AND WHEN 

Deadline to submitOctober 27th by 10:00 to Mitch at mijones@ucdavis.edu - (1) Submit your name or names, (2) Postion Desired, and (3) One paragraph on why your ticket is the one to vote for. By one paragraph I expect at least 3 sentences, but no more than 5 (Conveying information in concise, digestable chunks is a talent you should learn).

October 28th - The ballots will be sent to all current Net Impact 1st years.  This is your chance to learn of the candidates and let their ideas marinate in your heads so you can make an informed decision.

October 30th at 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM - VOTING BEGINS!!  Links to connect you to your own personal ballot will be sent to 1st year members.  Bribes will not make me rig the election, but will be accepted nonetheless.

October 31st at 9:00 AM - Results announced via E-mail!!!  Losing may hurt, but if you are a sore loser Mitch will hurt you.

WHAT POSITIONS ARE THERE?

Glad you asked. Here is a list of the available positions, recommended people per position (take our recommendations to heart), and current office holders who you can contact with at any time with any questions (any questions).

co-Presidents (2 person position): Greg - gtmurphy@ucdavis.edu, Christine - anotherchristine@gmail.com

  • Oversee the leadership team and lead tong-term vision
  • Communicate with Net Impact Central
  • Main contacts for the outside and academic community
  • Collect and summarize activities and accomplishments

Events (1-2 people): Jon - jonathan.mesh@gmail.com, Liz - eacollett@ucdavis.edu

  • Work with board to identify speakers and plan events
  • Organize event logistics (food, speakers, etc.)
  • Organize NI Orientation retreat
  • Coordinate Sustainable Enterprise Speaker Series with C4E
  • Look for opportunities to co-host events with other clubs

Finance (1 person): Truc - trucpn@gmail.com

  • Manage club budget and bank account
  • Collect member dues and disburse funds as necessary for events and chapter fees
  • Manage membership list and other accounts
  • Davis Membership = $25 for 2 years
  • Net Impact Membership = $30 / year 

Career Development (1-2 people): Mananya - Mananya_Chansanchai@yahoo.com

  • Promote careers that reflect Net Impact mission
  • Work with Career Services to educate and explore opportunities
  • Organize Day on the Job events
  • Ensure NI Members have the necessary career resources
  • Collaborate with other Bay Area Net Impact Chapters to expand our professional network

  • Board Fellows Program
  • Activities
    • Serve for one year as a non-voting board member of a nonprofit organization
    • Complete a strategic project for the organization

  • Infuse the core curriculum with the philosophy of the Principles of Responsible Management in Education

  • Tap the greater UC Davis campus curriculum offerings
